Yellow Cardstock Paper Guide

Changing seasons always brings about new holidays, new sensations, and even new color schemes. Though yellow is a popular color year-round, it is especially common to see during particular times of the year. In the spring, people like to see bright yellows that coincide with the blooming flowers. Similarly, bright yellow is a popular color for all the sunshine and happiness that comes with summer. Finally, people often turn to a more temperate, darker yellow to reflect the change from summer to autumn colors.

Regardless of the season, yellow is a fun color to use for announcements, invitations, and arts and crafts. For these kinds of projects, you will need high-quality card stock or paper stock. Either way, you can’t go wrong with the wide range of yellow options available at Fine Card Stock!

That said, you should never just jump into a purchase if you are unsure what you want to accomplish. When it comes to yellow cardstock paper, you need to ensure that you are getting the right shade of yellow to match your needs. Additionally, it is good to be informed on the reasons that so many people use (and like) yellow paper, as well as the potential benefits of using yellow paper in a variety of situations. So, in today’s guide, we will go over everything you need to know about yellow cardstock paper and hopefully help you make an informed decision for your next project!

Choosing The Right Shade Of Yellow

Different shades of yellow can hold different meanings and have different visual effects. For example, a dull, dark yellow will not be as fun or exciting as a light, bright shade of yellow. There are literally hundreds of different shades of yellow to choose from, but there are only a select number of shades that can work for a wide variety of occasions (wedding invitations, graduation announcements, holiday decorations, etc). So, let’s take a closer look at some of the best shades of yellow to fit your specific wants and needs.

Sunburst Yellow

Sunburst yellow combines the depth of darker shades with the brightness we associate with the sun. As a result, sunburst yellow is perfect for exciting announcements and invitations. Regardless of the color you choose for an envelope (or if you choose to forego an envelope entirely), sunburst yellow cardstock will immediately draw the eye and get the attention of the recipient. However, it is important to remember that text needs to be darker when used in conjunction with bright shades like sunburst yellow. Black, dark gray, or silver will all work well, but lighter colors like beige or white would be extremely difficult to read, so try to avoid these combinations.

Galaxy Gold

Galaxy Gold offers a darker shade of yellow that is best reserved for elegant or serious occasions. The depth of Galaxy Gold still offers a refreshing pop of color, but with a sense of professionalism. Consequently, Galaxy Gold is an excellent choice for invitations for weddings, anniversaries, or formal events. The darkness of this shade also allows for a wider range of text colors. So, if you want to combine yellow cardstock with lilac text, for example, Galaxy Gold would be a great option, as it allows both light and dark text to be easily read.

Lift-Off Lemon

Lift-Off Lemon is easily the brightest of all three shades mentioned here, making it the optimal choice for children’s event announcements or even just arts and crafts projects. Like sunburst yellow, lift-off lemon is specifically designed to draw the eye and make an impression. However, Lift-off lemon takes it to a whole new level with an extremely light, bright shade of yellow that can be paired with a wide array of darker colors like black, dark blue, or deep purple. To make an even stronger visual impact, you can combine lift-off lemon with other neon colors like pink, green, or bright red (just to name a few).

Why Yellow Paper Is So Popular

Our brains interact with colors in very unique and interesting ways. For this reason, choosing the right color can help you achieve your goal. For example, if you want to cheer someone up, you might consider bright yellow or violet. Alternatively, if you want to help someone relax, you might choose a deeper yellow, a light blue, or turquoise. As you might have noticed, yellow can actually serve a wide array of functions.

More often than not, yellow is associated with light, happiness, and optimism. Yellow is easy to see and, in most people, triggers the parts of the brain associated with energy, pleasure, and contentment. Therefore, if you want to create a card or announcement that will brighten everyone’s day, yellow is a great option!

But yellow can serve more functional purposes as well. Have you ever wondered why legal pads are usually yellow? It is because yellow creates a strong contrast from most other colors in an office setting, making it easier to set reminders for yourself using sticky notes. At the same time, bright shades of yellow can lift people’s moods and even make them feel productive at work. So if you want to display visual announcements in a work environment, using yellow is a win-win!

Lastly, moderate and darker shades of yellow can be extremely soothing on the eyes. Rather than staring at bright neon colors, you can use more temperate shades of yellow for cards and flyers that are meant to help people relax and feel comfortable. In short, yellow can really do it all; you just have to make sure that you get the right shade to match your intentions! Thus, yellow has become the go-to alternative to white or beige for many documents, cards, invitations, posters, and announcements.

Yellow Paper For Dyslexia

Though many people may not be aware of it, there is also an interesting connection between yellow paper and people who have dyslexia. This condition often appears during childhood and can make it more difficult for someone to develop their linguistic skills, particularly when it comes to reading words. However, various studies have shown changes in the way the brain interprets words based on the colors of the text, as well as the colors used for the background of the text. More specifically, yellow has been proven to make it easier for a large percentage of people with dyslexia to read unencumbered.

However, this does not mean that every person with dyslexia will respond positively to words printed on yellow cardstock. Dyslexia affects each person in unique ways, so some people with the condition may read words more easily if they are printed on light blue paper, while others may read them more easily on emerald green paper. That said, yellow has consistently shown positive results in the majority of dyslexia study participants. So, if you have friends, family, or children with dyslexia, you should consider using yellow paper or yellow cardstock to make life just a little bit easier for them!

DIY Mother’s Day Cards

Every year, families come together to celebrate the mothers in their lives. Held on the second Sunday of May, Mother’s Day does not always land on the same date every year. In any case, everyone celebrates Mother’s Day a little differently. Some families pamper the mother (or mothers) in their household with special treatment, doing all of the chores or tasks that would usually fall on their mom’s shoulders. Alternatively, some families buy their mothers and grandmothers nice gifts, beautiful cards, or even surprise vacation packages!

That said, the majority of moms simply want to feel the love and appreciation of their family, particularly their children. For this reason, DIY Mother’s Day cards are especially popular. Rather than simply going to the store and buying a generic card that doesn’t require much effort, a DIY card shows that you put a great deal of thought, care, time, and work into your gift. This way, you are bound to create a memorable Mother’s Day for all of the mothers in your life!

In today’s guide, we are going to take a closer look at making homemade Mother’s Day cards. We will also discuss some of the best ways to show your love and admiration through your DIY card. So, let’s get started!

How To Make A Homemade Mother’s Day Card

There is no one “correct” way to make a homemade Mother’s Day Card. That said, there are certainly incorrect ways to do it. You should never just throw together something at the last minute. Your mother will surely know and it will not feel as though you put much love or care into the project. Instead, you should plan ahead of time and consider various homemade Mother’s Day card ideas.

For example, if your family has younger children, you might consider turning card making on Mother’s Day into a family activity. Instead of creating the cards ahead of time, you can all work on them together and create a lasting memory of the day. Once everyone is finished with their respective cards, they can all be presented with love to your mother!

If you do not have younger children in your family or you simply prefer to prepare the cards ahead of time, the best Mother’s Day cards are personalized in some way. This means that you shouldn’t just write “Happy Mother’s Day” on a piece of white card stock and hand it to your mom. She may appreciate it, but she would likely appreciate it much more if you added personal details, decorations, or memories.

You don’t have to be a great writer, either. You can show your love on Mother’s Day through images as well. If you have a funny or memorable family photo, you can glue it to colorful card stock and add extra colors, adornments, or decorations that you know would appeal to your mom. Alternatively, you can add images and decorations that reflect you as a person, especially if they can emphasize the bond you have with your mother.

For example, let’s say that you and your mother love to listen to classical music together. You can use your artistic skills to recreate a hand-drawn version of a classical piece of music on the outside of foldable card stock. On the inside of the card, you can write about how much you love listening to beautiful music with her. And this is just one idea! The truth is that there are virtually no limits to the types of personalized cards you can make for your mother on her special day!

DIY Pop Up Mother’s Day Cards

At first glance, DIY pop up cards seem really complicated. Fortunately, you do not need to be an expert in arts and crafts to make a great Mother’s Day pop up card. In fact, once you understand the basics of creating a 3D effect with your card, you can use an endless number of ideas to make your card even more special.

One very popular Mother’s Day card craft project is the pop-up flowers card. Many mothers receive flowers on Mother’s Day, but much like store-bought cards, these don’t show a lot of effort. It only takes a few minutes to run by the local grocery store or flower shop to pick up a bouquet of flowers. This is not to say that flowers are a bad idea on Mother’s Day! Many mothers love to receive beautiful flowers. However, the DIY pop up flower card is an even more exciting option.

To make this card, you simply need a few pieces of standard card stock or paper stock. First, take one piece of paper (or card stock) and fold it in half. This creates the basis for the card that can be opened. Then, cut a triangle into the folded side of the card. When you open the card, you now have a triangular section that can form the base of your “flower bouquet.” Next, fold another piece of paper in the same fashion and glue the first piece to the front of the second piece. Now you have a backing to support the design of your card.

Finally, you can use small, colorful pieces of paper that are either folded or cut to resemble flower pedals. These can be glued to thin pieces of green paper to create 2D images of flowers. Once you have made at least 6 flowers, you can begin to glue them to the inside of your card “bouquet.” Now all of the most difficult parts are done! You just need to decorate your card as you see fit with images, words, or additional adornments.

It is important to note that the pop up flowers card is just one example of a pop up card. You could use 2D balloons, hearts, rainbows, or even photos of your family members to create the pop up effect. It all comes down to your personal tastes, what you want to express to your mom, and your imagination!

What Should You Write On A Mother’s Day Card?

As previously mentioned, you should do your best to personalize your card and Mother’s Day greeting as much as possible. That said, there are a few sample phrases that you can include on your card or use as part of your card’s message:

  • Happy Mother’s Day!
  • To the best mom in the world…
  • Hoping that you have the best Mother’s Day ever!

You can also put funny remarks in your card, especially if you have inside jokes with your mom. Here are a few more sample ideas:

  • I could never express how much I love you…so I won’t!
  • Happy Mother’s Day to my best friend and my cheapest therapist!
  • I know it’s not easy being a mom. If it were, Dad would do it!

Purple Cardstock Paper Guide

Purple is a beautiful, elegant color that often helps invigorate the creative parts of the human brain. Research has shown that simply looking at something purple can make you feel more energetic and innovative. Historically, the color purple has been associated with various positive themes and emotions, including mystery, royalty, wealth, and opulence. It is also associated with good health because purple fruits and vegetables are often packed with the vitamins and nutrients that your body needs to thrive.

All of this is to say that people like the color purple and it is a great option if you are planning on designing your own cards for party or event invitations. Not only does naturally purple draw the eye, but it also creates positive associations that can help ensure that people feel good about the invitation and are more inclined to attend your event in good spirits.

So, in today’s guide, we are going to cover all of the different options at your disposal when it comes to purple cardstock paper. Fortunately, you can easily find high-quality purple cardstock at Fine Card Stock, but we will also discuss different considerations when designing the perfect invitation or card with purple cardstock paper. So, let’s get started!

Choosing The Right Shade Of Purple

Different shades of purple can have very different visual effects from one another. A deep, dark purple can often be more impactful for the recipient, while a light purple can indicate a more delicate, romantic event (like a wedding or anniversary). However, there are hundreds of different shades that technically fall under the umbrella of “purple,” so it is not always easy to decide on the best shade of purple for you or your event. For this reason, we are going to break down purple into a few general categories and shades that can make it far easier to find the best option for your needs.

Mauve

Mauve is a very pale shade of purple that, in most cases, does not add a significant “pop” of color. Instead, it is a calming color that signifies peace, love, and tranquility. Therefore, when choosing cardstock, mauve is a color that is best reserved for events that do not have a “party” atmosphere. For example, you might use mauve to announce a quiet anniversary or a simple celebration of life for a loved one. This is not to say that mauve is a “serious” color; only that it does not invoke strong emotions like some other shades of purple.

Lilac

Lilac is another pale shade of purple that resembles lavender, but it has brighter undertones due to its association with the flower of the same name. Lilacs are frequently used as additions to flower arrangements, and since they tend to bloom in the late spring and early summer, it makes them a great option for the annual wedding season. Lilac has the effect of being both relaxing and beautiful, making it an optimal choice for just about any occasion. You can easily find Pastel Lilac cardstock of varying sizes to fit your specific needs.

Orchid

Like the flower, the color orchid resembles a bright mix of light pink and deep purple. It represents a great middle-ground between pale shades and dark shades of purple. Additionally, orchid is still light enough to use with dark font and have it clearly visible to readers. This, in turn, makes it a solid choice for most kinds of announcements and invitations. At Fine Card Stock, we offer Outrageous Orchid cardstock, which is bright enough for parties and festive occasions of various kinds.

Deep Purple

Deep purple is a slightly darker shade of purple that is close to the natural hue of violet. This color works well in tandem with lighter images and colors, particularly gold. So, if you have a high-end event, deep purple can make a great background color for the invitations. For deep purple cardstock, we provide different sizes of Planetary Purple.

Grape

Finally, grape is one of the darker shades of purple that is essentially the same color as the fruit. Some purple grapes are a little lighter, but grape colors for lights, paint, and cardstock tend to reflect darker colored grapes. If you’re looking for the perfect dark purple cardstock, Fine Card Stock offers the Gravity Grape variety. This color is sure to make an impression, particularly for birthdays, parties, and holiday events!

Purple Cardstock For Wedding Invitations

Purple is one of the best colors for wedding invitations, as it is elegant, romantic, and luxurious. Though just about any shade of purple can work for DIY wedding invitations, many people opt for lighter shades of purple to announce their special day. You can use the same shade of purple for both the cardstock and the envelope, use contrasting shades of purple, or even use purple with a complementing color like gold, black, white, or gray!

Just remember that you will need to consider the color of the text on your wedding invitations based on the type of purple cardstock you choose. Darker shades will need to be paired with lighter text, while lighter shades of purple should be paired with darker text to make them easier to read. For example, mixing lavender with black or silver font will likely work well, while mixing a grape purple with black text would be difficult to read and visually unappealing.

Purple Cardstock For Party Invitations

Purple cardstock is not just for weddings, either. In fact, it is a great idea to use purple cardstock for a wide range of announcements and invites. Purple is especially good for Halloween party invites, as it fits the theme well (especially when paired with orange text or designs). Additionally, purple can help your invites stand out for birthday parties, graduations, sweet sixteen parties, baby showers, and bridal showers — just to name a few!

For example, let’s say that you are throwing a special event for a loved one’s 50th birthday party. You can use a variety of purple cardstocks to make the occasion memorable and express your respect for such a special day. If you put enough time and effort into the invitation designs, you can really make a great impression on all of your invitees!

Purple Cardstock For Domestic Violence Awareness Events

Finally, it is important to remember that purple cardstock can offer so much more than a pleasing visual experience. The most notable example is the color’s association with Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Every October, people come together and wear purple to show their solidarity with and support for victims of domestic abuse. The color purple has become an international symbol to raise awareness of domestic violence and its prevalence across the United States and the rest of the world.

If you are planning a Domestic Violence Awareness event, creating invitations or announcements using purple cardstock only makes sense. As soon as invitees see the card, they will likely understand its significance. This will also help encourage people to come and support a very important cause.

DIY Graduation Announcements

Like a wedding, a graduation is a time to celebrate with loved ones. A graduation is always a special time for students and their friends and families. Whether you have a student who is graduating from kindergarten or college, you will likely want to tell everyone in your close circle of friends about your child’s upcoming celebration! For this reason, graduation announcements offer a simple way to spread the word about the important details so that people can attend your students’ graduation and join in the festivities.

However, many people like to personalize invitations and announcements, regardless of the type of event. Fortunately, DIY graduation announcements are affordable, easy, and more personal than premade announcements that you can buy from the store. So, in today’s guide, we are going to help you create one-of-a-kind DIY graduation announcements!

Benefits Of Homemade Graduation Announcements

You may be tempted to simply run by your nearest gift store or grocery store to pick up graduation announcement cards because it seems like the fastest option. If you don’t have a lot of time before the graduation date, you may have very few other options. However, there are various reasons to consider DIY announcements and forego the generic options available for purchase:

  • Customization – Like most DIY projects, DIY graduation invitations can be completely customized based on your needs and available resources. For example, if you want to request invitees to dress in certain attire, it is far easier to do so with a DIY announcement. Additionally, you have more freedom to choose the kind of card stock or material you use. Alternatively, a generic announcement will come with preset designs, text, colors, and images. This only gives you so much room to customize your announcement cards and invitations.
  • Reduced Cost – If you want to make your own graduation invitations, it is far more cost-effective than buying premade cards. This is because you can buy the essential card stock and materials in bulk at a reduced rate. Since these products will have little or no existing designs, they will have a far lower price. Additionally, you are doing the “labor” of creating the designs and content of the announcements yourself, which means that you are trading a bit of your time to save on the cost of premade cards.
  • Personalization – While DIY announcements allow you to customize the cards based on your needs, they also allow you to create highly personalized pieces of art. You don’t have to just stick to the basics with generic lettering and images. Instead, you can really get your creative juices flowing and make the card reflect the interests of the student who is graduating, their school, or your family as a whole.
  • Easy Reproduction – It is not always easy to find the correct number of premade graduation invitations, especially if you wait until the last minute. In fact, you might only be able to find a handful of premade announcements that meet your standards. If you plan on inviting dozens of people, this could make it extremely difficult to get the word out to everyone on time. Fortunately, DIY invitations and graduation announcements allow you to buy the materials in bulk and create either individualized or copied versions of your own design. This way, you can create the exact number of announcements you need.

How To Make Your Own Graduation Announcements

Contrary to popular belief, it can be very easy to create your own graduation announcements. It all depends on the type of invitations and announcements you want to send out. Some people prefer simple, classic graduation announcement ideas, while others want something more modern and extravagant. Either way, if you plan to do DIY announcements, you will want to ensure that the final products are unique.

For this reason, it is best to start with the basics. To make DIY announcements, you simply need card stock and envelopes. You can write each invitation individually, ensuring that every card has a personal touch. Many people appreciate handwritten cards and invitations far more than preprinted cards. So, if you have good handwriting and are willing to spend a little extra time on your announcements, writing them out by hand is the best and most cost-effective option.

If you are handy with graphic design, you should also consider creating digital images and writing to print on each card. This may require you to have a card stock printer or utilize a third-party printing service. However, it will allow you to customize and personalize your card even further with images of your student, logos from the school, or other imagery that befits the event.

Finally, you can always create unique designs using additional decorations and items. A few good ideas to consider are ribbons, buttons, seasonal decorations, and customized stamps. You should also consider changing the shape of your cards. Most announcements are either square or rectangular, but you could trim the edges or create innovative shapes. Just make sure your cards fit in standard envelopes if you plan to send them out by mail!

What To Write On A Graduation Announcement

The key is to remember all of the important details. Who is graduating? When is the graduation ceremony? Where is it taking place? Who is receiving the invitation? Once you have answered all of these questions in the announcement, you can worry about lesser details like parking, attire, and other useful but non-essential information. In any case, the “who, when, and where” are always the most important details to include. If people do not know who is graduating, as well as when and where the ceremony and/or graduation party are taking place, they will not know what to do with the announcement. Then, all of your hard work will have been for nothing!

Therefore, you don’t want to leave any room for confusion. This means that graduation announcement wording is extremely important. For example, if you are not clear in the announcement, some people may think they are invited to a grad party when they are actually invited to a graduation ceremony, or vice versa. Thus, you should always make it clear exactly what you are announcing. Additionally, if you are inviting people to a graduation ceremony, be sure to note if there is an after-party or no party at all. It is always best to leave nothing to the imagination when it comes to DIY graduation announcements!

It is also important to remember that not all graduation announcements are also invitations. Sometimes you simply want to tell everyone you know that your loved one is graduating and you are proud of them! In this case, you will likely want to write a personalized note that gets straight to the point. To make it clear that it is not an invitation, you can include a phrase like “we just wanted to let you know the great news!” This way, people are less likely to get confused or start asking about times, dates, and locations.

Mother’s Day Craft Ideas

Homemade gifts always convey a unique personal touch that a store bought present simply cannot convey. There are few occasions more worthy than Mother’s Day to seize the opportunity to make DIY Mother’s Day gifts. What better way to show appreciation to the woman who raised you than by creating something personalized just for her? It may seem daunting to take on Mother’s Day projects. Running to a nearby store may seem like the easier and more convenient option, however, homemade Mother’s Day gifts are less difficult to create than you may think.

For some people, design ideas come naturally. They can sit down and get creative without too much effort. For others, directions or simple guidelines to follow can make the project much less daunting. Regardless of which group you fall into, here are some easy handmade things to make for Mother’s Day. Whichever project you choose to take on, remember that art is not a science. Take as many creative liberties as you would like and remember that perfection is not the goal.

Mothers Day Card Making

A Mother’s Day card is a great place to begin. All you will need is an 8.5 x 11 inch sized cardstock paper. There are a plethora of color options to choose from, but you can’t go wrong with ‘orchid,’ a beautiful pastel pink shade. Start by folding the paper in half lengthwise. Use a scoring tool such as the handle of a kitchen knife to create a neat and precise fold. Your empty canvas of a card is now ready to be decorated.

The funnest part of Mother’s Day card making is the decorating. This is where you can take as many creative liberties as you would like to create something truly unique. You can take the minimalist approach and use a calligraphy pen to neatly write your best wishes. You can choose to be louder and use dot paints and magazine cut outs to create a collage style effect. The personalization methods are truly endless.

Cardmaking is a tried and true option when it comes to showing your loved ones just how much they mean to you. Depending on how elaborate you choose to make your Mother’s Day card, it can either be the gift in and of itself, or it can be given alongside something else. There are no real rules, it simply depends on what feels right to you.

Pop-Up Cards

Pop up cards make for wonderfully unique gifts. To begin, select a medium weight cardstock paper. Any color will do, but metallic cardstock will add an extra flair of elegance. Use a pencil to neatly draw a heart that fills almost the whole page horizontally. Use a computer printout of a heart as a tracing tool for a precise heart shape. Once you have finished tracing, use a pair of scissors to cut out your metallic heart. Very carefully, fold the heart in half widthwise. Use a scoring tool to create a neat fold.

You now have the foundation of your Mother’s Day card. When folded, it will look like half a heart, and when opened, it will be a complete heart. Next, you will need pastel pink-colored paper for the pop up portion of your card. Cut out a 1.5-inch by 4-inch strip from the pink paper. Carefully, fold that strip into small folds back and forth, creating an accordion effect out of the entire strip of paper.

Place a small amount of quick drying glue into the inner fold of the opened heart. Pinch one side of the accordion closed and press that pinched side down into the glue. Close the card and place a heavy book on top of it to allow the glue and the folded paper to dry in place. After approximately 30 minutes, open up the heart and glue each end of the accordion folded strip onto opposite sides of the opened card. Once again, close the card, place a book on top of it and allow it to dry.

After an hour in total, you can open the card to reveal what will be the top portion of your pop-up rose. Simply use a pair of scissors to trim the bottom sides to create a more rounded rose-like effect. Next, use the scissors to cut small triangular slits into the top portion of the rose. With these minor adjustments, you will have created a true rose shape. To create the stem, use green paint to draw down from the rose to the bottom of the paper. Leaves can be added with the paintbrush as well, or you can use green tissue paper for even more texture.

Now that the inside of your pop-up flower card is complete, use the front of the card to write out your most sincere Mother’s Day wishes. Use markers, paints, calligraphy pens, or whichever artistic method speaks to you the most.

Mothers Day Flowers Craft

What if you’d like to give your mother actual real life flowers and not just a pop up one? There are ways to make that more unique and special than just a simple bouquet wrapped in paper.

To begin, you will need a brown paper bag from any recent grocery store shopping trip. Gently crumble the bag a bit and then open it back up to give it a slightly rustic vibe. Use parchment cardstock paper in various shades and sizes to create a mosaic type design over the majority of the outer part of the bag. Mod Podge glue will work best as an adhesive for the parchment paper. Leave the top six inches of the bag unadorned. Carefully fold over the top of the bag two or three times to create a neat folded over look.

From your most recent discarded packages, search for a small cardboard box that will fit inside the bottom of your paper bag and fill it with soil. You will now need to trim your flower bouquet to the correct height. Measure the stems from the bottom of the bag and have the flowers protruding out of the bag by at least five to six inches. Carefully place the stems in the soil and pack the soil around the stems to create a firm hold.

For your last step, use a strip of burlap ribbon and tie a bow directly underneath the folded over portion of the bag. Your handmade flowerpot is now complete and more unique than any vase or flower wrapping you could have picked up from the store. Whether you want to deliver it with a handmade card as well is entirely up to you.

When it comes to DIY projects, there are so many easy Mother’s Day crafts that can be made. Whether cardmaking is more your thing or whether you prefer Mother’s Day activities that produce actual gifts that make more of a statement, there are options for everyone when it comes to showing that special someone just how much you love them. Get creative and make sure to have fun in the process.

Cinco De Mayo Craft Ideas

Although it is not a hugely celebrated holiday in Mexico, Cinco de Mayo is popularly known in America as a day to commemorate Mexican heritage and culture. On May 5, 1862 the Mexican army won against France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War.

The battle lasted less than a day, with the French losing around 500 people, while the Mexicans lost less than 100 people.

Cinco de Mayo is primarily celebrated in the Mexican state of Puebla. They celebrate with military parades, and reenactments of the famed battle. However, this day is not considered a holiday in other parts of the country.

In the US, the larger celebrations for Cinco de Mayo take place in cities with large Mexican-American populations, such as Los Angeles, Chicago and Houston.

There are festivals featuring mariachi bands, celebrating authentic dress, and real Mexican food such as pozole and tamales. It is not just about getting your taco and margarita fix!

You can find appropriate Cinco de Mayo activities for people of all ages. Whether it be learning to do Mexican folk dancing or finding cheerful Cinco de Mayo crafts to work on, there is fun for everyone!

You can spot a Cinco de Mayo celebration by the brightly colored decorations, and many of these can be made as an arts and crafts project at home. Art projects are a fabulous way to bring the family, or your students together to create something fun, and explore new ideas.

Cinco De Mayo Crafts For Preschoolers

In planning Cinco de Mayo activities for preschoolers, it is important to focus on projects that engage all of the senses. Toddlers learn by smelling, seeing, feeling, and tasting the world around them. Engaging with the tactile senses is how little brains develop cognitive skills. All Pre-k and kindergarten classes have a sensory center, or sensory bin. Exploring through touch is a vital way for toddlers to learn.

Cinco de Mayo offers many opportunities to make this celebration palpable for little ones.

Making playdough is an easy way for kids to experience infinite learning, while having fun. For this holiday you can make cinnamon scented playdough, and teach the kids about its use in Mexican cuisine. Cinnamon is used in both sweet and savory dishes, from horchata to mole; this floral warm spice will engage your toddler’s noses and even taste buds (for the more daring kids!)

Playdough is fun to make, and will teach children to feel self-sufficient, but it also provides myriad ways to be creative once it is mixed. As children concentrate on creating whatever shapes their minds come up with, there are strong calming effects as their fingers dig and push in the soft molding dough.

In addition to playdough, we would be remiss not to mention slime. What kindergartener doesn’t adore the squishy melty goo that adults can’t stand to clean up? There is a reason slime is so loved by children; stretching that slime is an incredibly relaxing form of play that can help children’s brains self-regulate. Learning emotional regulation at any age is imperative, and it is never too early to tune our children into this. To make slime for Cinco de Mayo, you can do a Mexican flag themed color scheme. This is a great opportunity to teach about the Mexican Flag, and also to teach about colors!

Whether you decide to go with playdough, or slime, medium weight chipboard is perfect to make festive molds for this holiday. Think playdough chili peppers, or slime cactus; the possibilities are as endless as your imagination.

Cinco De Mayo Crafts For Kids

Children’s crafts can get messy, and sometimes messy is the best way to learn. A Cascarón is a brightly colored egg filled with confetti or rice, and your elementary students or family will definitely have a great time cracking these all over the place. These confetti eggs originated in Spain, where disappointed fathers would crack an egg over their misbehaving children’s heads.

Learning about cascarones is a great time to explore children’s moral compasses. Talking about polite behaviors and positive ways to seek attention always makes for a great discussion point.

To make confetti eggs, first you poke a hole in the bottom with a pin, and a larger hole on top to blow the contents of the eggs out. Make scrambled eggs, and add some chili peppers to go with the theme! There are a few ways to dye and paint the egg shells which can all be found online. The easiest way is to boil with food coloring and vinegar.

Once the eggs are beautiful and dry, it is time to really work those children’s fine motor skills! Get all your scissors, and confetti supplies ready because we have so many colorful cardstock and colored parchment paper options to choose from. The children will love exercising their little fingers to cut up confetti. Nothing says Cinco de Mayo more than colorful smashed egg shells and shreds of bright paper strewn around the yard!

Cinco De Mayo Crafts For Teens

Cartoneria is a category of arts devoted to paper and cardboard crafts in Mexico. One of the most famous traditional cartoneria is the piñata. Formerly associated with religious customs, piñatas or candy filled containers to be broken were first seen in Europe in the 14th century. Throughout the generations, piñatas had different contents, and different looks on the outside. The piñata is a very treasured tradition in Mexico. In order to commemorate its beauty, in 2007 the Museo de Arte Popular started an annual piñata making contest. Prizes of up to 15,000 pesos were won.

A piñata can be designed to resemble just about anything, and can be filled with whatever your heart desires, from fresh fruit to little toys.

Making a piñata can be a very artistic experience for teens who are into DIY. After their hard labor, they can enjoy blindly (with a blindfold) beating their creation with a stick, until it breaks and showers them with treats.

Papier Mache can be a complicated way to assemble the piñata; chipboard has the perfect texture and sturdiness to create a solid body for the piñata. You can choose to go the traditional route and make a donkey shape, or make things modern with a funky cactus shape. Pastel color paper or colored parchment is perfect for decorating the outside of the piñata.

Cinco De Mayo Crafts For Adults

When thinking about Cinco de Mayo activities for adults, drinking margaritas and eating delicious homemade Mexican food comes to mind. You will want to create a bright and cheerful atmosphere for your gathering, and nothing says hola like handmade festive decorations!

You worked hard to cook and create those authentic edible offerings, why not beautifully display your menu on chipboard?

And don’t waste all those empty cerveza bottles? Turn them into rustic looking vases with colorful paper flowers from colorful cardstock! Don’t forget to make vibrant piñata napkin rings that will liven up your table, all you need is colorful parchment and chipboard!

If Mexican folk art excites you, purchase colorful parchment to create a papel picado banner. Papel picado, or perforated paper are handmade banners that are hung during festive times in Mexico. With a scissor and a little imagination you can make cut-outs galore and hang these eye-catching creations around your fiesta.

Papel picado is traditionally associated with wind, because it is made with light paper and it moves easily. This is also symbolic of announcing family and friend arrivals.

Cinco de Mayo has so much to offer by way of crafts, and you don’t need to have fancy supplies!

Valentines Day Craft For Preschoolers

Preschoolers frequently celebrate Valentine’s Day by exchanging cards, candies, or small gifts with their classmates. In most cases, parents simply buy premade cards or gifts from the store. However, actually having your preschooler make something from scratch can allow them to have fun and express their creativity at the same time! It’s also important to note that your preschooler may just want to make a gift for you or another member of the family. In any case, here are a few fun and easy Valentine’s craft ideas for preschoolers:

  • Paper Heart – This is one of the easiest Valentine’s card ideas that also allows your preschooler to use their drawing skills. You can cut out the hearts yourself from colored paper and allow your child to draw smiley faces, animals, or even more hearts on each one!
  • Heart Stamps – This one is both fun and requires you to get a bit creative. Using a toilet paper roll, you can push down one side to turn the hole into the shape of the heart. Then, provide your preschooler with a little bit of paint to dip the end of the roll into, creating a stamp. Finally, they can use the stamp to create hearts all over blank card stock.
  • Candy Heart Art – Using candy hearts, you can make the process of creating Valentines Day crafts a lot easier! You and your preschooler can simply use glue or a safe adhesive to attach candy hearts to blank card stock. The small hearts can be positioned to create anything, including an even bigger heart!

Valentines Day Craft For Kids

Once your kids have grown up a little, they may be ready to take on more challenging Valentines Day projects. This means they can do more of the work themselves (what a relief!) and can use their own words to address their cards or gifts to individual people. No matter what kind of craft or card you choose, you are bound to have a lot of fun with your children! Here are a few popular ideas for Valentines Day crafts for kids:

  • Handprint Note – Using colored paper or card stock, your child can draw an outline of their own hand. Then, they can cut out the image and create a card using written words, glued decorations (like buttons), or even photocopies of their face!
  • Googly-Eye Heart People – Now that your kids have advanced beyond preschool, they can probably manage to create more than just a simple heart. Instead, they can use different cuts of paper to create a heart with arms and legs. Just glue on some googly eyes, draw a face, and voila! You have a funny, handmade heart person!
  • Friendship Bracelets – Friendship bracelets are one of the best ways for your children to show that they care about others. They can easily be made using string and decorated with hearts or small bobbles that you can find at any craft store.

Valentines Day Craft For Teens

If you are the parent of a teenager, you know that it is not always easy to get them to participate in structured activities. However, if you have a teen who wants to make something for a special someone on Valentines Day or simply take part in a fun activity for the holiday, there are various ways to keep them occupied and make sure they can make a truly unique craft. Additionally, teenagers are often at the perfect age to start exploring their own creativity and artistic abilities, making this a great opportunity to help your child flourish and find new hobbies. So, here are some popular Valentines Day crafts for teens:

  • Valentine Cookies – Valentine cookies are great because they allow you to work together as a family to make something delicious. Whether you choose heart-shaped cookies or regular cookies with red and pink sprinkles, you can brainstorm different ways to make them specific to the holiday. As an added bonus, your teen can give them out to friends at school and the family can enjoy the rest!
  • Decorated Picture Frames – Picture frames allow your teen to celebrate a special memory or simply decorate one of their favorite selfies! Generally, creating a picture frame from scratch requires more materials and attentiveness, but it is well worth it in the end. To start, you simply need to get some chipboard sheets as a backing and decorations (DIY or premade) to surround the picture.
  • Handwritten Cards – Even if your teen does not have the best handwriting, they can still create an extremely meaningful, handwritten holiday card. It is all about putting their emotions into words and really thinking about what they want to say to the recipient. Whether it is a friend, girlfriend, boyfriend, or family member, it will surely be appreciated and remembered!

Custom Valentine’s Day Shirts Sample

Valentines Day Craft For Adults

Finally, it would not be fair to provide ideas for the kids and teens while leaving out the adults! Fortunately, there are many ways to show that special someone in your life that you love them. Additionally, many of the same ideas that work for teens are also helpful for adults, especially adults who want to create fun Valentines Day projects for the whole family. That said, you don’t have to have a big family or even a romantic partner to enjoy Valentines Day arts and crafts. You can even create things on your own to celebrate the day:

  • Custom or Monogrammed T-Shirts – Nowadays, you can easily create monogrammed t-shirts right from your computer. You can simply choose the image and design of your t-shirt and have a company make it for you. Alternatively, you can purchase a blank t-shirt and do the hard work yourself using acrylic paints. You can literally make whatever image comes to your mind. Then, you can keep it for yourself or give it to a loved one!
  • Decorated Mason Jar – This one is fun because it is a good way to make use of mason jars that you might have lying around the kitchen. Rather than letting mason jars collect dust, you can decorate them using string, paint, glued decorations, and something to fill them. If you plan to give one or more of your decorated mason jars away as gifts, you could use multicolored sand on the inside or fill it with something consumable like candies or chocolates!
  • Valentines Cake – Just like cookies, cakes make for a great Valentines Day family activity. You can decorate them however you want and then enjoy the fruits of your labor. Also, if you want to give a nice gift to a special someone, a heart-shaped cake is a great way to show your affection!

Wedding Invitation Postage – 4 Key Factors

There are few things in life more exciting than getting married! You have the prospect of spending the rest of your days with the person you love, the ability to start a whole new chapter in your life, and — of course — a festive wedding! However, weddings require a lot of planning in advance. You can’t expect to have a beautiful, magical day without a lot of forethought and preparation. This includes sending out invitations to all of the people with whom you want to share your special day!

But as you probably already know, weddings can get very expensive, very quickly. Consequently, you should always be on the lookout to save on anything you can, including wedding invitation postage. There’s no need to spend a fortune on postage just to invite people to your wedding. Additionally, you will want to make sure that your invitations are correctly sized so that they can arrive at their destination without any complications. So, in today’s post, we are going to look at 4 key factors to consider when you are preparing your wedding invitation postage!

Wedding Invitation Postcards

Wedding Invitation Weight

The weight of your wedding invitation is extremely important, as it can greatly affect the cost to send your invitations, particularly if you need to invite anyone who lives overseas. In any case, you should always use at least 53 lb card stock, but you should try to keep it as thin as possible to reduce the weight. This may sound confusing, but the 53 lb does not mean that you will actually be buying 53 pounds worth of card stock. It actually means that 500 uncut sheets of your cardstock would weigh 53 pounds. You can learn more about how card stock is weighed and measured in our Paper Weight Guide.

When it comes to the actual weight of the invitation and the envelope, you can typically get the measurements when you actually purchase the card stock and envelopes. However, if you do not have this information, you can use any traditional scale and weigh a stack of card stock. Count the number of cards and divide the total weight by that number. Then, do the same thing with your envelopes. Finally, add these two numbers together to get a relatively accurate measurement of your total invitation weight.

For example, let’s say that you have a stack of 50 cards. They weigh 2 pounds (32 ounces). You divide 32 by 50 and you are left with 0.64 ounces per card. You do the same with 50 envelopes and find that they weigh 3 pounds (48 ounces). You divide 48 by 50 and are left with 0.96 ounces per envelope. Added together, this means that every invitation (card stock + envelope) will weigh roughly 1.6 ounces.

This number would actually be ideal because it is far cheaper to keep each invitation under 2 oz. If the invitations are more than 1 oz but less than 2 oz, you can use a 2-ounce stamp, which is cheaper than two 1-ounce stamps. Speaking of weight and keeping the postage price down, it’s best to skip the double envelopes. Double envelopes have been a wedding invitation tradition for centuries, but they’re losing popularity due to the high cost. So, keep your invitations light by skipping the unnecessary second envelope.

Wedding Invitation Size

If you are looking to save on postage, you should always stick to standard sizes. It can be tempting to send out huge, jaw-dropping invitations for your big day, but this could end up costing you a fortune in postage alone. Instead, make sure that your wedding invitations are not too big to fit in a standard No. 10 envelope.

To fit in a standard envelope, your invitation cannot be wider than 11.5 inches. You can always find unique ways to fold your invitations, but this could alter the thickness of the invitation too much (more on that later). So, in order to send your invitations without breaking the bank, you should plan on using card stock that can either fit in standard envelopes or be easily folded to fit using the traditional 3-fold method. You can learn more about your options for invitation sizes right here.

In most cases, wedding invitations are small because of the context and the cost. First, you need to send out dozens, perhaps hundreds of invitations. This will naturally come at a cost that grows with the size of your card stock and envelopes. Second, weddings are generally considered sacred affairs, so smaller, more intimate invitations often set the right tone before the special day has even arrived!

Wedding Invitation Die-Cut Shape Samples

Wedding Invitation Shape

Many soon-to-be brides and grooms want to create unique shapes for their wedding invitations. Unfortunately, this is a quick way to make the cost of making and mailing the invitations skyrocket. If you want to save on costs, it is best to go with a standard rectangular shape. This will make it easier to fit into standard envelopes.

Alternatively, if you go with a square invitation, it will require non-traditional or even custom envelopes. As you can imagine, this drives up the postage cost, whether you choose to mail your invitations through the USPS or a third-party service. In short, unless it is really important to you to make invitations that have a specific, non-rectangular shape, it is best to go with a more standardized shape!

Wedding Invitations in A-Envelopes

Wedding Invitation Thickness

The thickness of envelopes can be very tricky because most people cannot measure envelope thickness accurately. You can get a general idea of the thickness using a standard ruler, but it still won’t be 100% accurate. If you happen to have a caliper that can measure small objects, you can get a much more accurate measurement. However, this may not be a tool that you just have lying around the house.

In any case, if you want to mail your invitations without raising the postage costs, make sure that they are less than 0.25” thick. This does not sound like very much, but unless you plan on using double envelopes or very thick folded paper or card stock for your invitations, you will likely be able to keep your invitations under the limit with ease.

It’s also important to remember that decorative items can increase the thickness of your invitations. This includes ribbons, stickers, or other items that you attach to the envelope. Therefore, you should keep any decorations small or remove them entirely if necessary.

Additional Wedding Invitation Tips

Finally, there are a few more tips we would like to provide to ensure that you avoid potential pitfalls when creating and mailing your wedding invitations:

  • Mail invitations early – You should always send out wedding invitations with at least two months’ notice so that invitees have enough time to respond and clear their schedules. It also allows you to manage any postage issues or invitations that are returned to your address with time to spare.
  • Hand-cancel manually – Many post offices will allow you to hand-cancel stamps manually, as long as you do it at the post office. If your invitations need to be canceled by a post office worker, this will greatly increase the cost of postage.
  • Seal without licking – Sealing envelopes with your saliva is not very sanitary. Instead, opt for water, wax, or even self-sealing envelopes. You can learn more in our guide on how to seal envelopes without licking!

Your Guide To Index Cards

Index cards are not just an item relegated to school supply lists. They have a plethora of uses for both kids and adults. While it may seem surprising that index cards serve a use other than being shoved to the back of your child’s school locker, this guide will illustrate how you can finally make use of all those accumulated index cards.

What Is An Index Card?

If you look up the meaning of index card, you’ll find that it is ‘a small card on which information is recorded’. With a description that broad, it is obvious that they are a multifunctional item with lots of applications.

You can choose between blank cards and lined cards depending on what you would like to use the index cards for. When being used as note cards or study cards, lined ones may better serve the purpose of neatly recording information. However, when creating flash cards, blank index cards serve as a better canvas.

Common Index Card Sizes

When it comes to school purposes, the 3×5 index card size is usually the most popular choice. They fit easily into all index card boxes and are a perfect size for younger children to fill with whatever information their teachers relay. The second most popular size are 4×6 inch index cards. This size is still small enough to be organized in a box, yet large enough to fit more material.

There are no rules when it comes to choosing the index card size that you prefer. There are even more sizes to choose from, such as, 5×7, 5×8, and 6×9 inch options. They can all be viewed here. Select your ideal size based on the project you intend to use them for.

What Are Index Cards Used For?

Index cards are so multifunctional and can help you organize your life in a multitude of ways. Some uses may seem more obvious while others may inspire you to dig out that index card box from the back of your supply closet.

Scholastic Use

Starting with the most obvious use first, index cards are a great classroom tool for the school setting. For younger grades, educators like to use index cards as a means to create flashcards when teaching academic basics. Flashcards have been proven to be very effective in helping children grasp basic concepts. As children grow, they can create their own flash cards with their teacher’s assistance to aid them in learning any new material.

This concept carries over to high school and college as well. During these academic years, students utilize flashcards as a means to organize class notes. The index card method has been proven to be very effective when studying for big exams. Additionally, due to the small size of index cards, students can easily study wherever they are without bulky notebooks or textbooks weighing them down.

Speeches

Continuing with the theme of index cards being a very practical size, they make a great tool for anyone with a public speaking agenda. Their small handheld size offers convenience for anyone standing behind a podium and not wanting to shuffle large noisy papers around.

Index cards are a great tool with which to organize the points you would like to cover in your speech. Due to their small size, it will be easy for the speaker to remember what they are up to and not get lost in the thirty plus lines of a regular sheet of paper. This note card system provides an organized and convenient way to effectively stay on point and deliver an impactful speech.

Recipes

Another popular utilization of index cards is for recipe keeping. We all have that drawer or cabinet stuffed with cutouts from various publications with recipes we’d like to try. Even better, there’s usually some envelopes with recipes scribbled haphazardly on the backs of them, along with other various scraps of paper we’ve used to jot down recipe ideas. Combine all that with the screenshots we have saved on our phones of all the recipes that just look amazing and are waiting to be attempted.

What ends up happening is that none of the recipes even get attempted, or at least most don’t. The disorganization makes us forget how many quality recipes we have and finding the one we want when we want it proves to be an impossibly frustrating task. Index cards offer a solution to this confusing mess. Use a quiet afternoon to transcribe all your recipes into a collection of index cards. You can either do it by hand or use a computer and have the recipes printed directly onto your index cards.

Once you have your recipes organized into a neat index card system, you can shop for a cute recipe box. There are a multitude of options available, in various sizes as well, meant to accommodate whichever size index cards you have chosen to serve as your recipe cards.

Creative Writing

For anyone with a flair for writing, index cards can be of great service when it comes to organizing your thoughts. Initially, they can be used for jotting down and assembling basic ideas. Those cards can then be used as puzzle pieces to structure your writing piece in a manner that makes sense. Once your outline has been assembled, you can continue to use index cards to further break down each section and keep your thoughts organized.

This same method can be used for screenwriting as well. The index cards allow the writer to break each section down to the smallest detail so that things don’t get too overwhelming or disorganized during the all important creative writing process. Use the cards to delineate the setting, each character, and each step of your screenplay. Then allow the smaller pieces to come together to create your masterpiece.

Photo Boxes

Index cards can also be used to organize your photo boxes. Without proper categories, it can be difficult to shuffle through hundreds of photos to find the one particular memory you are searching for. Utilize index cards as dividers to delineate the various categories of your photo collection. They can be labeled by year, by season, by trip, or however you would like.

Writing Versus Printing

Whichever utilization of index cards you seek to implement, all can be done with the tried and true age old handwritten method. However, if penmanship is not your thing and you enjoy taking advantage of all the conveniences modern technology has to offer, you can print your materials directly onto your index cards. All index cards sold here are compatible with printers. If figuring out the sizing and logistics are not your thing, we also offer printing options and can take care of all the work for you.

Whichever option you choose, allow index cards to bring organization into the chaos of everyday life. In even the smallest ways, their effectiveness makes a big impact.

Colored Paper and Cardstock Guide

Whether you’re about to start a crafting project or have a large printing job ahead of you, it is important to understand your options when it comes to cardstock paper. There are a wide variety of colors to choose from, as well as different finishes. Each color comes in various sizes and offers different weight options.

The heavier the weight, the thicker the paper will be. The lightest weight options serve best as ordinary paper or printer paper. As you go into the heavier weights, the paper will be stronger and will work best for invitations, cards, and the like. The different color options come in various sizes as well. The most common paper size is the 8×11 inch size, but there are both smaller and larger options available as well.

There are no right and wrong options in terms of what you would like to choose. It comes down to understanding your project and selecting the color and size that speaks best to your desired outcome. Continue reading this colored paper and cardstock guide to get started on your project.

Colored Paper and Cardstock

If you’re a preschool teacher and are looking to add color cardstock paper to your classroom art section, you can find a great selection here. Ordinary construction paper does not withstand scribbles and painting jobs as well as colored cardstock would. A better quality paper with a more significant weight to it will allow the children to take pride in their work and not get frustrated when it crumbles before their eyes.

Of course, there are many other situations in which you may require colored cardstock paper. Crafting is not limited to any specific age group. You may be making invitations, thank you cards, holiday cards, or holiday decorations. With varying shades of blue, green, orange, pink, red, and more, there’s sure to be a color that suits your project’s needs.

If you are planning a more typical printing project, colored copy paper would be a more appropriate material to use. Colored printer paper offers a lighter weight and would work well for flyers, pamphlets, newsletters, and the like.

Pastel Color Paper & Cardstock

Pastel Colored Paper and Cardstock

Some projects require more muted colors. For example, an invitation for a baby shower would look best on pastel colored paper. Pastel cardstock comes in a variety of colors and sizes. Click here to view all available options. With three different size options, you can customize your selection based on your desired look.

Baby shower invitations would work best on the 8.5 x 11 cardstock size. With over ten colors to choose from, you can choose to go the more traditional route with a lilac or pink option for a girl, or you can break the mold and go with a canary or green color. Be as gender specific or gender neutral as you would like. You can then select a complementary color in the 11 x 17 cardstock size to create decorations.

Colored pastel paper can also be used for signage in the workplace. White colored paper sometimes fades into the background a little too much, whereas bright colored paper may be too loud for a corporate environment. Pastel paper offers the perfect balance. Available in three different sizes and two paper weights, you can select the paper best suited for your needs here.

Bright Color Paper & Cardstock

Bright Colored Paper and Cardstock

Meanwhile, some projects require loud colors that will grab your attention. Bright color paper will draw the eye to whatever message you are trying to convey. If you are printing flyers about a beloved missing dog, a neon colored paper will help people take notice and hopefully assist in locating your cherished pet. Similarly, if you are posting signs about guitar lessons or any other service you would like to offer, a bright color will best serve your needs.

Bright color cardstock would be best for birthday party invitations with a louder theme. For example, if you are hosting a dinosaur themed party, a terra green colored cardstock party invitation would be the perfect choice. Also available in three different size options, you can take advantage of the array of bright colors to create themed party decorations, party signage, and more.

Metallic Color Cardstock

Metallic Cardstock

There are certain projects that require a little something extra. Click here to view our curious metallic paper collection. Metallic cardstock paper offers an elegance that cannot be found in ordinary paper. It elevates the simple do it yourself project into something extravagant and Gatsby-like. Not every occasion calls for such shimmery elegance, but when required, it is imperative to get it right.

Imagine you are hosting a New Year’s Eve party, invitations printed on white, red, or really any ordinary color would not do the party justice. However, an invitation printed on a 5×7 gold foil cardstock would be perfect. Available in even more size options, you can go the extra mile to incorporate the gold cardstock into all aspects of your party design. From invitations to letter cutouts to signage above the food and drink stations, the options are endless when it comes to customizing your party’s unique look.

Silver metallic cardstock is another great option when it comes to portraying elegance. For example, as a save the date card for a vow renewal ceremony. There are so many special occasions in life which call for the class and elegance that only a metallic cardstock paper can convey.

The beauty of any type of paper, whether pastel colored, bright colored, or metallic, is the ability to take a blank canvas and turn it into something spectacularly unique. You can transform that blank slate into a memory that will last a lifetime. The customization options are entirely up to you. Simply browse our large selection of both paper and cardstock paper and get started.
